Overview
Some hot tubs are electric. This one is not. The Canadian Timber Starlight is fired by wood, warmed by hand, and built the way outdoor hot tubs were built before jets, panels, and control apps replaced the practice. You light the stove. You wait. In under three hours, 233 gallons of water are ready.
Built by Dundalk LeisureCraft in Ontario, Canada, from 100% locally sourced Canadian cedar and lined with 5052 marine-grade aluminum, the Starlight is designed to sit outside and hold up against everything the seasons throw at it. The exterior cedar skirt matches the rest of the Canadian Timber Collection — meaning it pairs cleanly with a barrel sauna or Georgian cabin for a complete outdoor recovery setup.
This is the hot tub for the buyer who wants the practice, not the technology.

Why You'll Love It
Because it's the hot tub that requires you to slow down. Modern electric hot tubs are ready in a button press. That's fine for some buyers. It's not what the Starlight is.
You build a fire. You watch the smoke drift up through the chimney. You wait. The water warms. Twenty minutes in, you check the temperature. An hour in, you check again. By the time you're ready to soak, you've already spent the meditative hour that most people never get anymore — the hour where you're waiting for something without a screen in your hand.
Then you soak. The water is soft in a way electric-jetted water isn't. The cedar smells the way cedar smells. The temperature holds through a genuinely long soak because 233 gallons of well-insulated water doesn't lose heat quickly.
There's no chlorine chemistry to manage the way there is with a chemical-treated spa. You drain it, you refill it, you fire it again. The ritual is simpler than modern hot tub culture has convinced buyers it needs to be.
For the buyer who takes the slower practice seriously, this is the hot tub. For the buyer who wants jets, app control, and instant-on convenience, this isn't. Both are legitimate — the Starlight is honest about which one it is.
Perfect For
- The homeowner with an outdoor practice already established — sauna, cold plunge, or both — who wants a hot tub that matches the ritual rather than interrupting it
- Off-grid, cabin, or vacation property setups where reliable electrical infrastructure isn't guaranteed
- Buyers building a complete Canadian Timber Collection outdoor setup — the Starlight pairs visually and thematically with Dundalk's barrel saunas and cabin saunas
- The active-and-unhurried buyer who values the practice of preparation as much as the practice itself
- Coastal Florida properties where the cedar exterior weathers beautifully against salt air and the wood-fired heat draws attention as a design statement, not just a utility
Pairs Well With
- The Canadian Timber Georgian Cabin Sauna or Serenity MP Barrel Sauna — matched exterior cedar, shared Dundalk craftsmanship, complete outdoor practice
- The Tide Plunge — contrast therapy setup, morning cold and evening warmth
- Crest and Calm Recovery Balm and Body Oil — post-soak topical practice (available when the Wellness Line launches)
